After getting over the massive bout of consumption yesterday, I was ready to work it off. I started my journey by immediately getting lost. Fortunately, the maternal unit saw fit to loan her TomTom to the trip's cause, so we got back on track quickly and made it to the zoo.
The zoo offered an expert pair of ambassadors to greet patrons.
She was nice and talked to us
The owl was cool and tolerated my presence
We decided to hurry to the Reptile House before the crowds arrived. The area housed a really cool lizard, but I'm not sure if I will ever remember the name.
It's a joke, guys
The Reptile Walk beckoned next, although Jerome seemed less than enthused.
What about swimming reptiles, HUH!?!
He was sated when we found some water-bound reptiles.

The bus tour opened, so we got to see most of the zoo and take one of the goofiest pictures in existance.

We got to walk through the zoo next. The path to the pandas was lined with babies.
There's a medium one, a small one, and a big one in a row
The takin were extremely cute, but, as usual, the pandas commanded the largest crowds. I think the pressure may have been getting to them, though.

After calming the distraught bamboo-eater, we got to go on the Backstage tour.

The tour/show focused on some old favorites...

...and some new faces.
It's an eight-month-old clouded leopard kitten
One of the new faces immediately jumped on his trainer. The staff do not permit such behavior, but they reigned in the naughty behavior quickly. After reflecting on some of Jerome's behavior...

...I figured Jerome could benefit from their expertise. Fortunately, they willingly complied.

Overall, it was a fun, rewarding day...with another shot of a funny camel.
